It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas.....

As the holidays approach us, we are reflecting on the incredible year we've had. We are genuinely grateful for our family, friends and amazing clients. Thank you for supporting us as we continue to grow!

OUR FAMILY HOLIDAY TRADITION

Every year, we capture the joy of the holiday season with family photos.

Kids grow so quickly, and there's no exception with our boys. Before we know it, they will be grown up and won't want to take pictures with their family anymore. So this year, we decided to focus our photos on our boys and their special bond.

Capturing these beautiful family memories is one of my favourite things about the holidays and something I know we will look back on for many years to come!

There's nothing quite like the smell of Christmas baking filling your home over the holidays. Sugar cookies are one of my favourite holiday treats, and this simple recipe has become my family's go-to!

This soft, easy to cut out, sugar cookie recipe keeps its shape and does not need to be chilled before baking. I hope you enjoy these cookies as much as we do!

Christmas Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

❄️ 1 Cup unsalted butter, 226 grams

❄️ 1 Cup granulated white sugar, 200 grams

❄️ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

❄️ 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

❄️ 1 egg

❄️ 2 teaspoons baking powder

❄️ 1/2 teaspoon salt

❄️ 3 cups all purpose flour, 360 grams

Instructions:

1. PREHEAT oven to 350° F.

2. In the bowl of your mixer, CREAM butter and sugar until smooth, at least 3 minutes

3. BEAT in extracts and egg.

4. In a separate bowl, COMBINE baking powder and salt with flour and add a little at a time to the wet ingredients.

5. NOTE: If the dough looks crumbly, mix it for 30 seconds to 1 minute longer. The dough should pull away from the sides of the mixer.

6. If the dough still looks too dry or stiff for your mixer, take it out and place it on a floured surface. Wet your hands and finish kneading the dough by hand.

7. DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH. Divide cookie dough into workable batches (2-3 chunks), roll out onto a floured surface, and cut. You want these cookies to be on the thicker side (closer to 1/4 inch rather than 1/8).

8. BAKE at 350 for 6-8 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.

9. Once cookies have cooled, it’s time to decorate them with your favorite toppings.

ENJOY!
